The long and short of it is that I have come up with a scheme to save up money to buy her a new set of darts (either new widows or a set of Jeff Pickup customs) by not drinking any more beer at league games.
How did that go?
Well on the cash side of things I am both proud and slightly ashamed to say we saved a goodly sum over what we would normally spend. it just also happened to be the stiffest, most stressful most wretched few games I have played in a long time. At home in practice (which i always do stone cold sober) i was shooting well, beautifully even. Once the game starts for real though...
I suspect as i grow and mature as a player I wont get so easily unnerved, but until then it's going to be a tough haul!
I am a good sport, but I hate losing. I really do, but I would also really like to get my wife a nice new set of darts. A plan B might be in the works where I'll have a tipple before a game but then stick to kinder and gentler libations once I'm there.
OK and I have maybe mentioned doing a new dart review for my new McCoy Copper Tungsten's that I got from pure darts? Well very sorry to disappoint but I still haven't fully formed an opinion of them.
In any event the picture with today's post is indeed them. I used the McCoy Stealth most of the night but pulled the Copper Tungsten's out for maybe my best game of the night. (which was sadly still a loss).
I'm still feeling the sting of a bad night, but there is some satisfaction is sharing my misery with all of you!
See you all next time! Shoot well!!

Oh and almost forgot, but speaking of grabbing a great set of new darts as you may already have heard the folks at SEWA darts has their own dart as designed by the legendary Erik McVay. Erik is currently running a contest to give away a set. They are a fine looking dart and the SEWA forums are a wealth of information on darts so go check it out here: Win a Set of SEWA Darts Contest!!
Good luck!! :-)
